About MYS
Mesquite Youth Services, Inc.
“We are committed to our community and its future – OUR YOUTH.”

Mesquite Youth Services, Inc. previously known as the Youth Services Steering Committee incorporated in 1997 and became a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. It was established as a joint project between the Mesquite Independent School District (MISD) and the City of Mesquite.

The Executive Board is comprised of 14 members with 7 appointees from MISD and 7 from the City of Mesquite.

Mesquite Youth Services, Inc., in conjunction with the City of Mesquite Community Services Department, Youth Services Division, is responsible for the development and implementation of youth programs for youth that reside in the City of Mesquite or attend Mesquite schools. Youth age 13 to 16 are targeted for programs that will increase pro-social behavior. These programs include recreation activities, community service projects, youth leadership programs and cultural events. Special emphasis is given to addressing the needs of youth “at-risk”.

Youth Services is an advocate for families with limited resources. Information and referral services, counseling, scholarships for college and other programs are made available for families as a means of support in overcoming economic barriers.
Grant funding and donation solicitations are ongoing processes.
